UK-based electronic duo House of Strawberry are
making waves with a sound that sits confidently
between the borders of melodic techno, avant-garde
deep house, and Afrocentric groove. The duo,
comprising Drew Horley, acclaimed Mercury
Nominated producer and co-founder of Lab Studios
London, and Manchester DJ & Producer, Dan James—
combine sophisticated studio production with
dancefloor-savvy rhythms to deliver music that’s both
deeply textured and emotionally resonant.
Drew Horley boasts over three decades of experience in the music industry. He began as a bedroom DJ
and beat-maker and later achieved a Mercury Prize nomination with TY’s critically acclaimed album
“Upwards” in 2004. From his modest beginnings, Drew has collaborated with esteemed artists such as
Estelle (Grammy Winner 2009), Burna Boy (Grammy Winner 2020), De La Soul (Grammy Winner
2017), Natalie Williams, and Jay Sean. Recently, he has concentrated on developing and producing
emerging Hip Hop & Neo Soul artists alongside producing for H.O.S
Dan Riggs, a Manchester-based DJ, producer, and events promoter, has been a key figure in the music
industry for over three decades. Inspired by post-disco, electro, and acid house of the late ’80s, he began
hosting “Strawberries and Cream” parties in the mid-’90s, creating a community for underground
house and techno. A passionate record collector with an ear for emerging sounds, Dan has performed
nationwide, organised festivals, and appeared across various media platforms, always letting the music
take centre stage.
